Resale
Buyers who can no longer cancel return tickets through your shop and get their money back as soon as someone else buys them.
If a buyer can't come and the cancellation period is over, they can offer their ticket for resale on their order page. The ticket goes back on sale in your shop at the normal price. When someone buys it, the original buyer automatically gets the price minus your fee back. There's no secondary market with its own prices, and you never sell more tickets than you have places.
Allow resale
You turn on resale in the cancellation rules: on the event under Details → Prices with Allow resale when cancellation is no longer possible. Below it you set the fee, as a percentage of the ticket price or a fixed amount in the event's currency. Individual ticket types can have their own rules.
A ticket can only be offered if all of this applies:
- No cancellation step currently applies to it. While one does, the buyer cancels instead.
- The number of tickets is limited, by a quota, the date's capacity or the seat map. With unlimited tickets, nobody would buy an offered one.
- The date hasn't started yet, and nobody has entered with the ticket.
- It's an admission ticket. Extras and required add-on tickets can't be resold on their own.
How it works for buyers
The order page shows a Resell tickets section. The buyer picks the tickets, sees how much they'll get back after a sale and offers them.
- While a ticket is offered, it isn't valid for entry. A note replaces the QR code, and any wallet pass becomes invalid.
- With Withdraw the buyer takes it back, as long as nobody is buying it right now.

Offered tickets go to the waitlist first, then they're on sale in the shop as usual. A seat from the seat map becomes bookable again, and it's exactly that seat.
When the ticket is sold
An offered ticket counts as sold once all other tickets of that type and date are gone and someone buys one more. For seats from the seat map, it's exactly the offered seat that counts. If there are several offers, the oldest goes first.
- The original buyer's ticket is cancelled. Your fee is shown below the price.
- The refund with the reason Resold goes back to their payment method automatically, and they get an email.

You get the TickySmart fee for the returned ticket back. The newly sold ticket works like any other sale.
Common questions
What do I earn from resale?
The new buyer pays the normal price and the original buyer gets the price minus your fee back. You keep the fee. Whether the booking fee is refunded too, you decide in the cancellation rules.
What if the ticket doesn't sell?
Then the buyer gets nothing back. They can withdraw the offer and use the ticket themselves, as long as it hasn't been sold.
Can buyers set their own price?
No. The ticket is sold at your shop's price, like any other.
Where do I see which tickets are on offer?
The order shows Up for resale below the ticket. Only the buyer can offer a ticket. Instead, you can cancel and refund it.
