Re-entry
Choose per ticket type whether guests can come back in on the same day, and scan them out at the exit with the scan app.
Popping out for a smoke, to the car or for some fresh air: whether guests can come back in afterwards is up to you, per ticket type. The scan app knows the rule and shows the right result on the second scan. The rule applies on the same day, and for passes it starts fresh on each of their dates.
Set the rule
Open the event, the Tickets tab and the ticket type. Expand Entry.
- Under Re-entry on the same day, choose one of the three rules. The default is Yes, if scanned on the way out.

| Rule | What happens | Second scan without going out |
|---|---|---|
| Yes, if scanned on the way out | Guests who leave are scanned at the exit and can come back in afterwards. | Yellow: Already inside |
| Yes, any time | The ticket can be scanned any number of times on the same day. Handy if nobody scans at the exit. | Green: Let in again |
| No | Once inside, the ticket is used up for that day. | Red: Already used |
Scan at the exit
With Yes, if scanned on the way out, staff at the exit switch the scan app to Out at the bottom and scan the ticket. Anyone with a valid ticket may always leave. The app shows green with Went out.

When the guest comes back, the entrance scans as usual with In. The app shows green with Let in again. A device can also be the exit all evening: the direction stays as it is until someone changes it.
When someone comes back without an exit scan
With Yes, if scanned on the way out, staff see yellow with Already inside since 9:14 PM. This is also what happens when a ticket has been passed on. Staff decide:
- Let in anyway if it's clear the guest only stepped out briefly.
- Don't let in if the same code is already inside and someone else is standing there.
The live view counts these scans as Double scans.
Multi-entry cards
For multi-entry cards such as a 10-visit card, the rule decides when an entry is used up:
| Rule | For multi-entry cards |
|---|---|
| Yes, if scanned on the way out | Leaving and coming back on the same day doesn't use up another entry. |
| Yes, any time | On the same day, only the first scan counts as an entry. |
| No | Every scan counts as a new entry. |
There's also the Waiting time after each entry field: How long the card can't be used again after an entry, so it can't simply be handed on. Leave empty for none. If someone scans the card during that time, the app shows yellow with the time it's valid again. How to set up multi-entry cards is explained in What a ticket is valid for.
Common questions
Nobody scans at the exit. What should I choose?
Yes, any time. The ticket can then be scanned any number of times on the same day, and your staff don't have to decide when people come back. The downside: a ticket that's been passed on won't stand out.
Does the rule carry over to the next day?
The rule applies per day. A day ticket is only valid on its date anyway. A pass is valid once on each of its dates, so the first scan on the second festival day is a normal entry again.
Do IDs need checking again on re-entry?
No. With an age limit, the app only asks for ID on the first entry: Age check.
I changed the rule. Does it apply to tickets already sold?
Yes. When it's online, the scan app always checks against the ticket type's current rule. It's still best to change rules before doors open, not halfway through.
