What a ticket is valid for

Set up a ticket for one date, a pass for every date or a multi-entry card with entries and an expiry date.

Whether a ticket is good for one evening, a whole festival or ten visits is set per ticket type. It controls what buyers choose in the shop, how often the ticket works at the door and how the quota counts.

The three options

Open the ticket type and expand Validity and dates. Under Valid for you choose:

OptionHow it worksExample
One date of choiceBuyers choose a date when buying; the ticket is valid once on that date.Concert ticket, day ticket
Every date (pass)One ticket for all dates, one entry per date, e.g. a festival pass.Festival pass, weekend ticket
Multi-entry cardA fixed number of entries on any dates, e.g. a 10-visit card; with a validity period also without dates, e.g. for a pool.10-visit card, annual pass

One date of choice is the default. For events with time slots, every ticket type is valid in the slot the buyer picks, see Time slots. Season tickets are always valid once at each of their dates, see Season tickets.

A pass for several dates

  1. Choose Every date (pass).
  2. If the event has several dates, choose which ones below. With All dates the pass also covers dates you add later. Without it, tick individual dates, at least one.
Validity and dates section of the festival pass: Valid for Every date (pass), below it the two festival days to tick

A pass takes up one place in the capacity of each of its dates. For passes the quota is called Total quota and counts passes sold, not entries.

You can also pick dates for One date of choice. That way you offer a ticket type on certain dates only, such as a family rate on Sundays.

Multi-entry card

  1. Choose Multi-entry card.
  2. Entries: how many times the card works, between 2 and 1,000. For a season or annual pass, tick Unlimited (season or annual pass) instead.
  3. Valid: until when the card works. Unused entries expire after that.
Validity and dates section of an annual pass: multi-entry card, unlimited ticked, valid 365 days after purchase
ValidMeaning
No expiryThe card doesn't expire.
Until a dateValid until the end of the chosen day, in the event's local time.
Days after purchaseValid for this many days after purchase, 1 to 3,650. Each buyer gets their own expiry date.

A multi-entry card is valid at every date of the event unless you pick individual ones under Dates. With a validity period you can even sell it with no dates at all, for example as an annual pass for an exhibition. Multi-entry cards don't count towards the dates' capacity; limit how many there are with the quota.

Waiting time after each entry

For multi-entry cards, the Entry section has a Waiting time after each entry field. For this many minutes after an entry the card can't be used again, so it can't be passed straight on to the next person. You can enter 1 to 1,440 minutes; empty means no waiting time.

What Re-entry on the same day means for multi-entry cards:

SettingFor multi-entry cards
Yes, if scanned on the way outLeaving and coming back on the same day doesn't use up another entry.
Yes, any timeOn the same day, only the first scan counts as an entry.
NoEvery scan counts as a new entry.

More on scanning at the exit in Re-entry. To stop a card from being passed on, you can also require a photo: Names, proof and photos.

Common questions

Can I sell day tickets and a pass at the same time?

Yes, as two ticket types, for example a day ticket for one day of choice and a festival pass for both days. Both count towards each day's capacity.

What happens when I add a date?

Ticket types with All dates are valid there right away. Ticket types with selected dates only apply once you tick the new date.

Can I switch from a single date to a pass later?

Only while no tickets of this type are sold or reserved. After that, sold tickets keep their rule. Add a new ticket type for the pass.

When do sales stop if I don't set a sales end?

Tickets for one date sell until that date is over, passes until the last date is over, and multi-entry cards until they stop being valid. If a date has no end, sales run until it starts. More in Sales period and limits.
